Simon Ross

Simon started his career shooting documentaries including Cutting Edge for Channel 4, before moving to the opposite end of the industry to edit Hollywood movie trailers. This mix of shooting and editing led to opportunities directing corporates and promos, and in the years that followed projects took him all over the world, from the Arctic ice sheet to the Amazon rain forest.

Through his career Simon has developed an interest in combining CGI and VFX with his live action work and loves adding CG elements to filmed sequences, or putting actors in CG worlds he’s created. Directing films for clients like Virgin Media, Wagamama and Oxfam, Simon has produced a wide variety of work from commercials to longer form web content.

Simon graduated with an MA in Film and Television Production from Bristol University, after completing an MA in Politics at the University of Edinburgh. He maintains his interest in politics and current affairs, along with watching sports, movies and planes taking off and landing (which is not plane spotting).
